Emily is an accomplished Scottish Highland Dance instructor at Northampton Dance Studios and Registered Nurse at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. She started dancing at the age of 6 under the direction of Christie Freestone in Alma, MI at the Mid Michigan Highland Dance Academy and traveled throughout the U.S., Canada and Scotland competing and performing.

Prior to moving to the Peninsula, Emily taught children ages 6 - 16 at the Turning Pointe School of Dance, Holland, MI and the Highland Dance Academy of Chicago, Chicago, IL.

Emily received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hope College, Holland, MI and was the recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award. She has taken courses at Rush University and is pursuing her MS in Nursing at Hampton University with an anticipated graduation date of December 2010.

Emily resides in Hampton with her husband Derek and her dog Pacino. When not studying or dancing she enjoys running, cooking and traveling. She has been a Highland dance instructor for the past eight years and feels so priveleged to have the opportunity to join such a wonderful dance family!
